
In 2003, WEATOC conducted a survey of its members pre- and post- program. The following summarizes the key findings:
- Increase in self esteem: 90% of the participants identified the importance of loving oneself and avoiding negative peer pressure
- Decrease in marijuana use
- Increased knowledge about substance abuse, violence, HIV, and prevention practices
- Increase in communication skills
- Increase in awareness of and access to helpful resources
- Increase in positive attitudes toward low-risk behavior (i.e. avoiding substances and violence)
